THE GEORDIEMAN 2026
THE GEORDIEMAN is a multisport event at Druridge Bay Country Park in Northumberland featuring long distance triathlon formats and several shorter race options. The programme includes full and half triathlons, aquabike, duathlon, aquathlon, relay teams and open water swim entries in Ladyburn Lake.
Event distances include:
- Full triathlon: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle, 26.2 mile run
- Half triathlon: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle, 13.1 mile run
- Full aquabike: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle
- Half aquabike: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle
- Duathlon: 5 km run, 56 mile cycle, 13.1 mile run
- Aquathlon: 1.2 mile swim, 13.1 mile run
- Swim only options in Ladyburn Lake
The course is set around a 100 acre freshwater lake with three miles of beach and dunes, nature trails and coastal roads. Swim sections take place in calm Ladyburn Lake, the bike routes use mostly flat coastal roads, and the runs follow flat paths around the lake, nature reserves and beach views.
Practical details include on-site registration with race packs collected at event registration, a secure transition area with bike number and helmet requirements, live chip timing, stocked feed stations on bike and run routes, and a strict 16 hour cut-off for the full distance. Finishers receive a medal and event hoody or a T shirt for swim only entries. Camping is available on site for £15 per person per night and parking at the park requires payment on arrival.
