THE GEORDIEMAN 2026
THE GEORDIEMAN 2026 is a multi-discipline endurance event held at Druridge Bay Country Park in Northumberland. Races use the freshwater Ladyburn Lake for open water swimming, coastal roads for the cycle sections, and flat paths circling the lake and nearby nature reserves for the run. The location includes a 100-acre lake, three miles of beach and sand dunes, nature trails and wide open coastal roads.
Event distances offered include:
- Full Distance Triathlon: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle, 26.2 mile run
- Half Distance Triathlon: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle, 13.1 mile run
- Full Aquabike: 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle
- Half Aquabike: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle
- Duathlon: 5 km run, 56 mile cycle, 13.1 mile run
- Aquathlon: 1.2 mile swim, 13.1 mile run
- Open water swims: multiple swim-only distances Relays are available to split any event between team members.
Every finisher receives a medal and either an event hoody or a T-shirt for swim-only entrants. Hot catered food is provided after non swim-only events, and live chip timing is used. Feed stations on bike and run routes supply gels, fruit, snacks and hydration. There is a 16 hour cut off for the full distance.
