THE GEORDIEMAN 2026
THE GEORDIEMAN 2026 is a multi-discipline endurance event at Druridge Bay Country Park, Northumberland. The programme includes long and half distance triathlons plus aquabike, duathlon, aquathlon, relay and swim-only options, staged around Ladyburn Lake and nearby coastal roads.
Event distances include:
- Full triathlon (140.6): 2.4 mi swim, 112 mi cycle, 26.2 mi run
- Half triathlon (70.3): 1.2 mi swim, 56 mi cycle, 13.1 mi run
- Full aquabike: 2.4 mi swim, 112 mi cycle
- Half aquabike: 1.2 mi swim, 56 mi cycle
- Duathlon: 5 km run, 56 mi cycle, 13.1 mi run
- Aquathlon: 1.2 mi swim, 13.1 mi run
Racing finishes require a final 50 m run from transition. The swim takes place in Ladyburn Lake. The bike course follows mostly flat coastal roads and the run uses flat paths around the lake, nature reserves and beach views. The full distance has a 16 hour cut off.
Every finisher receives a finisher medal and an event hoody or a T shirt for swim-only entries. Hot catered food is provided to most finishers and there are unlimited snacks and drinks on course. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North and event photography is available to purchase. Feed stations on bike and run routes offer VOOM Pocket Rockets, VOOM Hydration, fresh fruit, sweets, chocolate and savoury snacks.
Camping is available on site with hardstanding pitches and a camping field with portable toilets. Parking at the country park is paid and payment options include on-site machines and the PayByPhone app. Entry prices listed range from £30 to £240.
