THE GEORDIEMAN 2026
THE GEORDIEMAN is a multi-discipline endurance event at Druridge Bay Country Park in Northumberland. The programme includes full and half triathlons plus aquabike, duathlon, aquathlon, relay teams and swim-only options, all centred on Ladyburn Lake and the surrounding coastal roads and paths.
Event distances include:
- Full Distance Triathlon - 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle, 26.2 mile run
- Half Distance Triathlon - 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle, 13.1 mile run
- Full Aquabike - 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle
- Half Aquabike - 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle
- Duathlon - 5 km run, 56 mile cycle, 13.1 mile run
- Aquathlon - 1.2 mile swim, 13.1 mile run
- Swim-only options including 750m, 1.2 mile and 2.4 mile swims
Course highlights note calm, clear water at Ladyburn Lake, mostly flat coastal roads for the bike, and flat running paths that circle the lake and pass nature reserves and beaches. Feed stations are provided on both bike and run routes with hydration, fruit and snacks. Every finisher receives a medal and event hoody or a T-shirt for swim-only entries; hot catered food is supplied after non-swim-only races and live chip timing is used. There is a strict 16 hour cut-off for the full distance. Camping is available on site for a fee and parking at the park requires payment on arrival.
