Allithwaite 8 - The 10th edition
Allithwaite 8 is the tenth running of a trail race held on the Cartmel peninsula at the edge of the Lake District. The course covers about 8 miles or 13 km over trail, fell and quiet roads and is described as well marked and marshalled.
The event takes place at Allithwaite Community Centre, Quarry Lane, Allithwaite LA11 7QJ. A large part of the event proceeds supports the local school, the community centre and other community projects. Entrants receive a special 10th edition item.
Prizes are offered for first, second and third open men and women and include cash and local food and drink. Additional prizes are provided for veterans and under 18s. The event holds an ARC permit number ARC/26/0756.
Practical information for entrants is specified by the organiser. Kit requirements include hat, gloves and full body cover or waterproofs at registration. Off road shoes are recommended. Minimum age is 16 years on race day with parental consent if under 18. The event is currently full and new entries will be placed on a waiting list. No entries are taken on the day. Dogs are not permitted on the course or in the community centre.
Race headquarters provide toilets and refreshments. Water will be available at the finish so entrants should bring a cup. Other refreshments may be purchased with cash and proceeds support the community centre. Final details are sent to registered entrants and published after entries close.
