Allithwaite 8 - The 10th edition
Allithwaite 8 is a local trail race held at Allithwaite Community Centre in Allithwaite, LA11 7QJ, on the Cartmel peninsula at the edge of the Lake District. The course is about 8 miles (13 km) and uses trail, fell and quiet roads. The route is well marked and marshalled.
Entries open 17 July 2026 and close 31 October 2026. Minimum age is 16 on race day, with parental consent required for those under 18. Entry fees are listed from £9 for under 18s to £15 for seniors. No entries are accepted on the day. Final details are sent to registered entrants.
Hat, gloves and full body cover or waterproofs are required; off-road shoes are recommended. Toilets and refreshments are available at race headquarters. Water is provided at the finish; entrants are asked to bring a cup. Other finish-area refreshments are cash only and the funds support the community centre.
Prizes include cash and local food and drink for first, second and third open men and women, with additional awards for veterans and under 18s. A large part of event proceeds supports the local school, community centre and other community projects. Limited free car parking is available near the venue; car-sharing is encouraged and rewarded.
