All-Comers Summer Track Meets - Charlottesville
The All-Comers Summer Track Meets are a series of four Tuesday meets in July held at Curtis Elder Track at Charlottesville High School, 1400 Melbourne Rd, Charlottesville, VA. The series continues a tradition of community track racing established in 1975.
Events offered at each meet range from sprint to distance races. The schedule includes these distances and events:
- 100M
- The Mile
- 200M
- 2x400M Relay (1 lap each person)
- 800M (2 laps)
- 2 Miler
Registration is free and available online in advance. Donations of any amount are accepted and are used to support maintenance of the Curtis Elder Track. Each event will be organized into heats by age group. Ribbons are available at a ribbons table after events for youth participants.
There will be no official results kept; a clock will be available at the finish line. Meets are subject to heat and storm delay policies: meets cannot start if the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature exceeds 86.1 degrees, and all activity is halted if lightning is detected within a ten mile radius until the lightning clears that radius.
