Event overview
The Alderley Park Trail 5 Mile takes place on 21 July 2026 at Alderley Park, Congleton Road, Nether Alderley, Macclesfield (postcode SK10 4TG). The event is a two-lap trail race covering approximately 5 miles, starting outside the Glasshouse building and running within the grounds of Alderley Park. The route passes woodland, an impressive lake, a working farm and other park grounds. The race is licensed by TRA and is run under UKA Athletics rules. Minimum entry age is 16.
Logistics, entries and services
Entry fees are shown as £18 for club runners and £20 for non-club runners and include a commemorative technical finisher’s t-shirt. Entries close when the event reaches its limit or at midnight the night before the race; there are no on-the-day entries or an official waiting list. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers (presentations after the race) and to veterans in age groups V35 to V85+ in 5-year increments; vet prizes are posted and are based on chip times. Results are available immediately on the event entries system, and an SMS finish text is sent if a mobile number is provided.
Facilities listed at Race HQ include free parking, bag drop, toilets, first aid, a drinks station at the finish, bike storage and downloadable high-resolution images. Organisers offer an optional bring-your-own pre-filled water bottle system and provide compostable cups and water at the finish. Transfer options include transferring the place to another person or converting to a virtual entry within one month; refunds are not offered.
