ABQ Museum Dash
The ABQ Museum Dash is a community road event on August 16, 2026 in Albuquerque, NM, staged in front of the Albuquerque Museum near Tiguex Park and within walking distance of Old Town and the Explora Science Center. The event offers multiple distance options and supports the Albuquerque Museum Foundation.
Distances include:
- 5K (3.12 miles) timed event
- 5K (17 and under) (3.12 miles) timed event
- 1 Mile walk non timed
- Kids K (1 km) non timed
The 5K uses chip timing attached to the race bib and official results require participants to start at the official start time. All 5K participants must be capable of completing the course within 1 hour and 20 minutes due to traffic control permit requirements. Race day logistics include packet pickup the day before at a local running store and race morning packet pickup for out of town participants at the museum area. Parking is available at the Albuquerque Museum and participants are asked not to park on the course roads.
Course support includes water and Powerade stations and medical staff positioned at the start, finish, and along the course. Strollers are permitted with conditions; dogs, skateboards, rollerblades, and unauthorized bicycles are not allowed. Awards are given for 5K overall and by age group; the 1 Mile walk and Kids K receive participant recognition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
