JT 5000
The JT 5000 is a community running event held on August 16, 2026, at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. The event consists of multiple races on courses contained within the fairgrounds, described as flat and arranged to avoid public road traffic and intersections.
Race options include:
- Team Red, White, and Blue 5K 3.1 Miles, fee $35
- Aim High Mile 1 Mile, fee $25
- One Medal Combo 5K & 1 Mile combined time, fee $45
- Kids K 400 m, fee $15
The One Medal Combo records a combined time for both distances and includes a $400 winner-take-all prize for the first place male and first place female competitors. The event honors a retired Air Force E-9 Master Sergeant and local running coach who mentored runners in the community. The JT 5000 partners with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation; proceeds or participation are associated with supporting that foundation’s mission.
The schedule lists separate race categories for adults and children. Registration fees are specified per event.
