Albert Rivera Menudo Run
The Albert Rivera Menudo Run is a community running event taking place on August 22, 2026 at Whittier Narrows Park in South El Monte, California. The event has been held for over 40 years and includes multiple race formats for participants of different ages.
Distances and formats
- 5K Run: 3.1 Miles
- 10K Run: 6.2 Miles
- Team Race 5K: 3.1 Miles, teams scored with 5 to 7 participants
- Kiddy Run: 800 m, not timed
- Fun Walk: 3.1 Miles, not timed
Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K within age divisions that range from 0-14 through 90+. There are no awards for the Fun Walk or Kiddy Run. For the team event, scoring requires five to seven participants per team and the top three teams receive a trophy.
All participants receive a bowl of menudo. Participants aged 21 and over also receive a beer and should bring valid ID. Registration opens March 27, 2026 and closes August 1, 2026.
