2026 Albany Ave 5K Massapequa
The Albany Ave 5K is a community sports event held at the Albany Avenue School in Massapequa, New York. Taking place on May 16, 2026, the event features two distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 5K
- Fun Run
The 5K course is USATF certified and is open to both runners and walkers. Participants who register at least three weeks before the event will have their names printed on their race bibs. For younger participants, the Fun Run provides a timed opportunity to participate. All finishers in both events receive a medal, and the first-place finishers in the children’s category are awarded a specific medal.
The event is organized to support the Albany Ave School PTA, with all proceeds benefiting the organization. Participants are also encouraged to bring unworn sneakers to the event for children in need. Amenities provided on-site include t-shirts for those who register by the specified deadline, as well as refreshments and snacks. A professional announcer handles the start, finish, and the post-race awards ceremony.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the 5K. Additionally, awards are given to the top three male and female participants in multiple age categories, ranging from 12 and under to 75 and over.
