AJ Bell Great South 5k
The AJ Bell Great South 5k takes place on 17 October 2026 in the Portsmouth area. The event is a 5k road race that starts and finishes on Clarence Esplanade and runs along the seafront, offering views across the Solent.
The published course heads from Clarence Esplanade toward Southsea Common, continues along Serpentine Road and Lady's Mile, then uses Jack Cockerill Way and South Parade before joining Eastney Esplanade to a U turn point just before the Coffee Cup. Runners return along Eastney Esplanade to Clarence Esplanade for the finish. The course is described as fast and flat and is subject to change.
Event facilities and services include baggage drop, personalised race numbers, a bespoke finisher medal, an optional event t-shirt, and a finisher's bag with items. Official event photos are available to view and purchase after the race. The Great Run app provides runner tracking and access to professional photos on event day. The minimum age to participate is 14 on race day. Race numbers with timing chips are posted 1 to 2 weeks before the event; late or overseas entries must collect numbers from the event information point.
