The AJ Bell Great South 5k takes place on 17 October 2026 as part of the AJ Bell Great South Run weekend. The event distance is 5k. Course and what participants receive
The course starts on Clarence Esplanade, proceeds towards Southsea Common, then along Serpentine Road and Lady’s Mile. Runners exit onto Jack Cockerill Way, join South Parade and continue on Eastney Esplanade to a U-turn just before the Coffee Cup, then return to finish on Clarence Esplanade. The route is described as flat and fast and runs along the seafront with views across the Solent.
Finishers receive a Great South 5k medal, an optional event t-shirt, and a finisher’s bag. Official event day photos are available to view and purchase. Runners who decline the finisher t-shirt option trigger a donation to the National Trust Woodlands Appeal; the organiser commits to donating a portion of fulfilment costs and targets an approximate donation of £20,000.
