Event overview
The AJ Bell Great South 5k takes place on 17 October 2026 as part of the Great South Run weekend. The race is a 5k road event based on the Portsmouth seafront. Entrants must be aged 14 or over on the event day. A booking fee of £3.00 is applied at checkout. Course and logistics
The published course starts on Clarence Esplanade and follows a seafront route that passes Southsea Common, Serpentine Road, Lady’s Mile, Jack Cockerill Way, South Parade and Eastney Esplanade. The route includes a U-turn point just before the Coffee Cup and finishes back on Clarence Esplanade. The organiser notes the course is subject to change. Participant provisions and support
Participants are offered an event medal, an optional finisher t-shirt, and a finisher’s bag. Race numbers are personalised with the runner’s name.
