Aid via Action 5K
The Aid via Action 5K is an annual running event held at Bachman Lake Park in Dallas, Texas. The event serves to raise awareness regarding global health access and supporting medical resources in Northern Guatemala. The race is open to participants aged 6 years and older.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5 km run
- Virtual Run option
The 5 km course is held on a chip-timed route. According to safety regulations, no pets, scooters, roller skates, or bikes are permitted on the course, though strollers are allowed. Organizers encourage a headphone-free environment for the safety of all participants. The course officially closes two hours after the start.
For those unable to attend in person, a Virtual Run option allows participants to complete the distance at any location, including on a treadmill or at a different outdoor site. Virtual participants are required to submit evidence of their activity via a digital fitness app or photo to receive their event shirt and finisher medal by mail.
Participants can collect their race packets on the Friday prior to the event at a local sports store or on the morning of the race at the park. Awards are presented to overall winners, masters, and grand masters, as well as top finishers in age groups ranging from 15 and under to 80 and over in 10-year increments.
