Multi-Sport Benefit Event
Against the Tide Hopkinton is a family-friendly, multi-sport event that takes place at Hopkinton State Park. Now in its 34th year, this rain-or-shine gathering serves as a benefit for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC). The funds raised contribute to community education programs, webinar series, and environmental health initiatives for students.
Participants can choose from several athletic components, including swimming, running, and walking. The event features USATF certified courses for the running portions, ensuring accurate measurement for participants interested in competitive standards. The athletic options available at the Hopkinton location include:
- 5 km run (USATF certified: MA15005BK)
- 10 km run (USATF certified: MA15006BK)
- Walk course
- Swim course
Registration can be completed online until the evening before the event or in person at the registration tent on the morning of the event. Participants have the option to compete individually or as part of a team. For those in the swimming component, wetsuits are permitted.
The venue is located within a state park setting. While service animals are welcome, no other pets or dogs are allowed on the beach area. Facilities for the event include a registration tent and various course guide supports. For those unable to attend the in-person date, a virtual participation option is also available, allowing participants to submit results for multiple components.
