Event information
The Achilles Long Island 4k and 8k takes place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Wantagh, NY at Jones Beach State Park near the Jones Beach bandshell. The event is organized by the Long Island chapter of Achilles International, which provides athletic programs and social connection for people with disabilities and reports having empowered over 150,000 athletes since 1983.

Course, logistics and awards
Both courses start near the Jones Beach bandshell and head west along the boardwalk. The 8k race has a strict cutoff time of 1 hour 40 minutes; runners who do not reach the 4k turnaround (2 km) by 25 minutes will be re-routed onto the 4k course. Entry fee is listed as $35, with the price increasing after October 5, 2025. Early packet pickup is available Saturday, November 15 from noon until 4:00 pm at Sayville Running Company (temporary location: 35 Overton St, Sayville, NY 11782; warehouse behind the house). Race day packet pickup is available at Jones Beach near the bandshell. Awards are given in 10-year age groups and challenged groups. Participants receive a cotton long sleeve race t-shirt.
