Academy of Hope 5K Run/Walk for Learning

The Academy of Hope 5K Run/Walk for Learning takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Anacostia Park, Skate Pavilion, 1500 Anacostia Drive SE, Washington, DC 20020. The event is the inaugural 5K for the organization and is described as family-friendly. It includes both an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K. Race day check-in and packet pickup open early on race morning. All participants must enter the park before the last vehicle entry; roads will be closed by United States Park Police until later in the morning. Limited race day registrations will be available and are payable by credit card or payment app only; cash or checks will not be accepted due to National Park regulations.

About Academy of Hope

Academy of Hope is an adult education organization founded in 1985. It serves more than 800 adult learners each year across two campuses in Wards 5 and 8, offering free tuition for DC residents and flexible learning options, including daytime and evening classes, and in-person and virtual instruction. Programs range from basic literacy and high school completion to career training and college transition. A student support team provides childcare, transportation, food resources, housing support, and behavioral health services.
