Fun in the Sun 5k, 10k, 15k, Half Marathon
The Fun in the Sun event is a organized run and walk held in Long Beach, California. The event is organized by ABWR and takes place along the beach path in Belmont Shores. Participants check in at the tables located near 54th Place and Ocean Blvd. The course features views of the coastline and provides access to numerous public restrooms and water fountains along the route.
The event offers four distinct distances to accommodate different goals:
- 5 km: A single out and back route.
- 10 km: Two loops of the 5 km course.
- 15 km: Three loops of the 5 km course.
- Half Marathon: Three loops of a 4.36 mile course.
The race environment is designed to be relaxed and personal, with no qualification requirements for entry. Participants are permitted to use strollers during the event, and pacers or support crew are allowed on the course at any time.
Registered participants receive a custom finisher medal and a drawstring goodie bag containing various snacks and samples. Professional photos are taken during the event and are provided to runners at no additional cost. Official results, including names and times, are posted online within 12 to 24 hours of the event's conclusion. A time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes is in place for the half marathon distance.
