Absolution Run : event details
Absolution Run takes place on January 3, 2026 at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore, WA. It is the fifth event in the 2025-26 Winter Trail Series. Distances offered:
- 4-mile
- 8-mile
A youth discount applies: runners under 20 receive a $10 reduction on online pre-registration or day-of prices. The event is part of a series where a runner’s best four performances are used for series standings; awards require at least three scored events. Participating in four or more series events earns a pair of limited edition series socks.
Course, logistics and rules
The course starts on a wide trail, then follows swoopy, twisting single track and runs along the shore before climbing back up. 4-mile runners complete one loop; 8-mile runners complete two loops. The aid station is next to the finish and, for 8-mile runners, sits at about the halfway point. It supplies water, an electrolyte drink, and various carbohydrate or salty foods such as cookies, energy bar pieces, gels, chews, chips, bagels, fruity candy, fig bars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and bananas.
There is abundant parking near the start/finish, though the closest lot is reserved for hotel staff. If park lots fill, Bastyr University’s northwest lot is available and is about a 0.4 mile (0.7 km) walk to event headquarters. A Discover Pass is required to park at St. Edward State Park; Bastyr’s northwest lot does not require a Discover Pass. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Participants are responsible for their own safety and should call 9-1-1 in an emergency. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
