Absolution Run
The Absolution Run takes place at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore, Washington. This event is the fifth installment of the 2026-27 Winter Trail Series. The park is situated on the northeast shoreline of Lake Washington and features natural forest areas, undeveloped waterfront, and the historic St. Edward Seminary building.
Participants can choose between two trail distances:
- 4 miles
- 8 miles
The course begins on a wide trail before transitioning to twisting single-track paths. Runners descend toward the waterfront to follow the shoreline of Lake Washington before returning uphill. The 4-mile distance consists of a single loop, while the 8-mile distance requires two loops. An aid station is located near the start and finish area, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and various snacks such as energy bars, gels, fruit, and salty foods.
There is a cutoff time of 10:45 am for participants to begin their second lap. The event is USATF sanctioned, and dogs are not permitted on the course. A Discover Pass is required for parking in the main park lots, though alternative parking is available in the Bastyr University northwest lot, which does not require a pass.
Competitors in the Winter Trail Series can earn points toward seasonal standings in several categories, including Youth, Junior, Masters, Female, and Open divisions. Runners who participate in four or more events within the series are eligible for custom apparel or gear. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
