Abersoch 1K Beach Sprint
The Elvins Abersoch 1K Beach Sprint is a one-kilometre running race held on Saturday 19 June 2027 on Abersoch Beach. The route runs to the right of the middle slip ramp near the beach cafe and follows a beach course that mixes hard and soft sand; runners should expect to get their feet wet in places.
The event is scheduled between the Olympic and Sprint distance Abersoch Triathlons. Timing chip technology is used to provide accurate finish times for each competitor. Every finisher receives a zinc alloy medal with a bespoke lanyard and a bottle of water on crossing the finish line.
Categories are provided for Open (U17), Under 14, Under 12, Under 10 and Under 8. Trophies and cash prizes are awarded to the boys and girls winners in each category. Prize levels include £20 for Boys Open and Girls Open, £10 for most youth category winners, and £5 for Under 8 winners. An additional £20 is offered for a new course record. Existing course record times are 3 minutes 14 seconds and 3 minutes 30 seconds.
