ABC7 Gibbons 5K - Event details
The ABC7 Gibbons Run on May 30, 2026 takes place at Montrose Harbor in Chicago to raise funds for the Leukemia Research Foundation. The event offers a chip-timed 5K run, a 3K walk and a kids dash, followed by a post-event area with food, refreshments, music and partner tents. There will be games and activities for families.

Packet pick-up is scheduled the Thursday before the event at the Fleet Feet store in Old Town. The 2026 course will be very similar to the 2025 course map.
Registration fees vary by date and by age group. Children ages 4–11 can participate free with an adult registration through February 15; youth registration is $20 after that date. The Tiny Trot (ages 3 and under) is always free. Patients and survivors may register free of charge.
Virtual participants receive a Virtual Race Kit (bib, t-shirt and medal) by mail; registering by May 1, 2026 ensures the kit is mailed before the event. Virtual entrants can upload their time to receive a personalized ABC7 Gibbons Run certificate. Fundraising incentives for virtual participants are mailed after the run.
The event site is at Montrose Harbor near DuSable Lake Shore Drive. There are two paid lots nearby, limited street parking, CTA access, rideshare and Divvy bike options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
