A Salute to Our Veterans Viva Mobility 5K
A Salute to Our Veterans Viva Mobility 5K is a community event on Saturday, November 7 that combines a veterans tribute with running and a mobility resource fair. The event includes a 5K race, a 1 mile route, a virtual option, and youth participation categories. Registered participants may visit Morgan’s Wonderland free on the day of the event.
The event features awards for the 5K Non-Adaptive field and for veterans, dependents, and surviving spouses. Awards include overall male and female placements and 1st through 3rd in age groups: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Adaptive competitors receive 1st through 3rd awards for male and female divisions.
Registration includes pricing tiers and a free entry option: 5K Adaptive, veterans, dependents, and surviving spouses of veterans are free; youth options have reduced or no cost and may not be chip timed or eligible for awards. The Adaptive category is defined as anyone with a disability requiring equipment or considerations.
Project MEND is associated with the event and provides refurbished medical equipment to people with financial or insurance gaps.
