A Salute to Our Veterans Viva Mobility 5K
A Salute to Our Veterans Viva Mobility 5K is scheduled for Saturday, November 7 at Morgan’s Wonderland Event Center in San Antonio. The event pairs a community celebration honoring veterans with walking and running options and accessible activities. It offers access to a Sensory Friendly Village and a playground and includes food, a community resource fair, entertainment by Patsy Torres, photo booths, loteria, a raffle, swag bags, guest speakers, and awards.

Registration is required to take part in the 5K. The Adaptive category covers participants who require equipment or special considerations. The 5K Adaptive category and Veterans, Dependents, and Surviving Spouses of Veterans participate free of charge. General registration fees vary by date and at packet pick-up. Children age 6 to 18 may participate for a reduced fee with a paid adult and may purchase a shirt; ages 0 to 5 participate free with a paid adult. Children who register under the kids option are not chip timed and are not eligible for awards. Chip timing and award eligibility require registration in the 5K Non-Adaptive or Adaptive categories.
Awards include overall male and female places and 1st through 3rd in age groups from 15 and under up to 70 plus; adaptive awards are given 1st through 3rd by gender.
Packet pick-up is available on November 5 at Project MEND, 5015 Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, and also on race morning at the event. Project MEND provides refurbished medical equipment to people who need mobility items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
