9/11 Heroes Run - Harrisburg, PA
The 9/11 Heroes Run in Harrisburg honors the heroes of 9/11 and those who have served since. The event brings together community members and supports veterans, active duty service members, first responders, and families of the fallen. It is open to individuals and families of all fitness levels.
The event takes place on September 19, 2026 at Harrisburg Area Community College, One HACC Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
Distances and formats include:
- 5K Run
- 5K Ruck
- 1 Mile Run/Walk
Race registration opens May 27, 2026 and closes June 30, 2026. Published registration fees are $36.00 for the 5K Run, $41.00 for the 5K Ruck, and $21.00 for the 1 Mile Run/Walk. Volunteer registration opens July 11, 2026 and closes September 12, 2026; the volunteer registration fee is $0.00.
The event organizer partners with GORUCK to offer rucking divisions. Rucking is described as a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks.
