9/11 Heroes Run - Austin, Minnesota
The 9/11 Heroes Run is a community athletic event held in Austin, Minnesota. The event starts and finishes near the SPAM Museum and is designed to honor the heroes of September 11, 2001, as well as veterans, active duty military, first responders, and families of the fallen.
Participants can choose from several categories centered around a 5K distance:
- 5K Run: Available for individuals, families, active duty military, and first responders.
- 5K Ruck: A weighted division held in partnership with GORUCK.
The rucking division is based on special forces training and involves walking or running while wearing a weighted rucksack. Individuals registered in the rucking categories receive an exclusive Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) GORUCK patch.
Registration is open to the public and includes specific discounted rates for active duty military and first responders. The event is open to participants of various fitness levels, including runners, ruckers, and walkers. Volunteers are also utilized to support the execution of the various race categories.
