9/11 Commemorative 5K Run/Walk
The City of Graham hosts the sixth annual 9/11 Commemorative 5K Run/Walk, a community gathering held at the City Hall Campus. This event is open to all participants and operates on a non-fee basis, though donations are accepted. Participants are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue attire for the occasion.
The event features two primary distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 1 Mile option is designed as a non-competitive run or walk and takes place after the 5K has started. For 2026, the organizers are implementing a new route for the courses.
In addition to the running events, the City Hall Campus includes a variety of community activities. The fire bays house a runner services station, and a dedicated area is set aside for a personal blood drive. Entertainment includes music provided by a DJ and various games. Families can access the Park & Play Mobile Recreation area, and a Touch A Truck display is available for exploration.
The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions, occurring rain or shine. Because space may be limited at the City Hall Campus, carpooling is recommended for those traveling to the venue. Attendees are permitted to bring lawn chairs to the site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
