815 VKRC - VKRC Korean Liberation Day Run (81st Anniversary)

The event takes place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Mundy Park (Hillcrest Field), 641 Hillcrest St, Coquitlam, BC V3J 6N9. It marks the 81st anniversary of Korean Liberation Day and combines running with collective remembrance.

Participants register individually and choose a sub-event according to their running level. Teams consist of 4 or 5 runners and are formed by the organizers to create balanced groups based on the chosen sub-event and each participant's longest comfortable distance. The team goal is to complete a combined 81.5 km within a 2-hour time limit. The run is described as a fun run focused on mutual encouragement, teamwork, and reflecting on the meaning of liberation and freedom.

Awards include special prizes for members of teams that complete 81.5 km and prizes for the top-performing team.
