5K Run/Walk for Brain Aneurysm Awareness
The 2nd Annual 5K Run/Walk for Brain Aneurysm Awareness is a community sports event held in Muskegon. The event takes place on a mostly flat, scenic out and back course that runs along the shores of Muskegon Lake. This activity is designed for both runners and walkers and serves as a fundraiser to support the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
The foundation focuses on education, research, and support for those impacted by brain aneurysms, which affect approximately 1 in 50 people in the United States. Revenue from the race contributes to these missions, and the host venue additionally donates 5% of its total sales from the day to the cause.
Participants in the event receive several items as part of their registration:
- A commemorative race t-shirt
- A finisher's medal
- A swag bag
The course includes an aid station located at the halfway point to provide hydration for participants. Following the activity, participants who present their race bib at the Bear Lake Tavern receive a 10% discount on their bill. On-site registration and packet pick-up are available on the morning of the event at the Ruddiman Drive location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
