5K Race for Recovery on the Boardwalk
The Market Street Mission organizes a community fundraising event on October 24, 2026, on the Ocean Grove Boardwalk in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. Proceeds support the Mission's programs that provide free meals, overnight shelter, and a long term residential recovery program for people affected by hunger, homelessness, and addiction in New Jersey.
The program includes an in person 5K that follows a scenic, flat route along the boardwalk into Bradley Beach and back, a two mile family walk along the boardwalk, a kids fun run for children age 10 and under on a large field, and a virtual 5K option for participants who complete the distance remotely. Some entry options include a souvenir tech tee or t shirt; a no t shirt kids option is offered free of charge.
A VIP 5K package is available and lists benefits such as parking close to the venue, bib and registration materials delivered to the parking spot for those arriving together, extra tricky tray tickets, and a tour of the venue upon arrival.
