Event overview
The 5K on the Greenway is a road and greenway race in Mount Airy, NC on October 11, 2025. The event is co-hosted by Reeves Community Foundation and Mount Airy City Schools and takes place during the weekend of the 59th Annual Mount Airy Autumn Leaves Festival. Offered distances include:
- 5K
- 1/2 mile fun run
All 5K participants receive a custom finisher's medal. The event welcomes runners, walkers, and strollers. Packet pickup is available before race day and on race day.
Course and details
The 5K starts at Riverside Park and follows the newest section of the Granite City Greenway along Lovill's Creek to the SouthData parking lot and back. The race is chip-timed by Go! Sports Timing; overall awards are based on gun time and age group awards are based on chip time. Cash prizes are listed for overall male and female 1st through 3rd places. Age division awards are given 1st through 3rd in the following brackets: 10 & under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. A Team Fitness Challenge prize is awarded to the fastest team based on the average gun time of the top five team members. Registration fees and shirt guarantee deadlines apply; fees are non-refundable and the event runs rain or shine.
