5K on the Greenway : Mount Airy, NC
The 21st Annual 5K on the Greenway takes place in Mount Airy on October 3, 2026. The event is hosted by Reeves Community Foundation and organized with Mount Airy Parks and Recreation.
The course starts at Riverside Park and follows the newest section of the Granite City Greenway along Lovill's Creek to the SouthData parking lot and back. The program includes a timed 5K and a shorter fun run for younger participants. All 5K participants receive a custom finisher's medal. The 5K is chip timed by Go! Sports Timing; overall awards use gun time and age group awards use chip time.

Registration options and fees are published with early and standard pricing windows and a youth rate for under 18 and a reduced fee for the fun run for children under 10. Applicants registered by September 20 are guaranteed a long sleeve performance race shirt. All fees are non refundable and the event proceeds in rain or shine.
Awards include cash prizes for overall male and female top three finishers, age group awards in multiple brackets, and a 5K Team Fitness Challenge awarded to the fastest team based on the average time of the top five finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
