Event details
This is the 21st Annual 5K on the Greenway, with a half-mile fun run. It is hosted by the Reeves Community Foundation. The event is located in Mount Airy, North Carolina, and starts at Riverside Park. The 5K course runs along the newest section of the Granite City Greenway, following Lovill's Creek to the SouthData parking lot and back. The race is popular with runners, walkers, and those with strollers.
Registration and fees
Registration is available online or on race day.
- 5K Adult: Early registration (by September 20) is $33; standard registration (September 21–October 3) is $38.
- 5K Youth (under 18): $28.
- Half-mile fun run (under 10): $15.
All fees are non-refundable. Participants registered by September 20 are guaranteed a long-sleeve performance race shirt.
Awards and timing
All 5K participants receive a custom finisher's medal. Cash prizes are awarded to the overall male and female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. Age division awards are also given. A 5K Team Fitness Challenge award is given to the fastest team based on the average gun time of the top five team members. The 5K race is chip-timed. Overall awards are based on gun time, while age group awards are based on chip time.

Early packet pickup is available on Friday, October 2, at Mount Airy Parks & Recreation/Reeves Community Center. Race day registration and packet pickup are at Riverside Park from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM.
