Isabella Santos Foundation 5K for Kids with Cancer
The Isabella Santos Foundation 5K for Kids with Cancer, presented by Uwharrie Bank, returns to Ballantyne at Rea Farms on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The event is part of the foundation’s ongoing work to support children with rare pediatric cancers.
The race began as a grassroots event in Ballantyne and has helped raise more than $19 million for rare pediatric cancer research and family support. Proceeds from this edition will fund research, clinical trials and family support programs at Levine Children’s Hospital and Novant Hemby Children’s Hospital.
This event centers on the 5K race. Every registrant receives an official race bib, a finisher medal for the 5K, a commemorative t-shirt and full access to the event. The day includes local bites and brews, a family-friendly Kids Zone with free fairy hair and a foam pit, a VIP adult zone, emcee entertainment, a vendor row shopping experience and an exclusive silent auction.
Additional event components include a curated vendor market with limited space, opportunities for sponsorship at multiple levels, fundraising team participation through ambassador roles, and volunteer positions for ages 16 and up.
