Filter of Hope: 5K for Costa Rica

This is a student-organized 5K at Michigan State University hosted by Anchor Christian Fellowship in partnership with Filter of Hope. The event raises funds so MSU students can travel to Costa Rica and deliver household water filters to families without safe drinking water. Proceeds support team travel and the purchase of the filters the team installs.

The course begins and ends at Fee Hall on MSU's campus and follows paths along Conrad Road, the River Trail, and the Red Cedar, passing Farm Lane, the IM Sports Circle, and The Rock before returning to Fee Hall. The route uses campus trails and streets and is not closed to other pedestrians or cyclists; participants should watch for traffic at crosswalks.

Participants may run, jog, or walk at their own pace. Dogs and strollers are permitted with the request that those participants start toward the back of the field. Check-in and bib pick-up are available on race day near the start line, and same-day registration is offered. Registration options listed by the organizer include a student rate with a valid student ID and a general rate for others; registration fees go directly to the mission trip and filter purchases. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
