5K For CATCH

5K For CATCH is a fundraising event in Northbrook, Illinois, benefitting CATCH, Community Action Together for Children's Health. The event period runs from April 3, 2027 through April 17, 2027 and includes an in-person 5K run at Techny Prairie and a separate virtual 5K option.

The in-person 5K provides each registered participant with a bib, a custom shirt, and a custom medal at check-in, subject to a limit of 150 registrants; walk-ups and last minute registrants are not guaranteed a shirt. The virtual 5K does not include a shirt or medal and has a reduced registration fee to reflect that difference.

Course support and safety measures include two water stations along the route, bottled water available before and after the event, a first-aid kit on site, and an AED present at Techny Prairie. Parking is available in Techny parking lots, including the Techny Prairie Activity Center parking lot.

Registration details differ by event. The in-person 5K has a separate registration period and fee from the virtual 5K. Results will be collected and shared with participants after the event. The event description notes the aim to reduce stigma around mental illness and to support a community focused on mental health and well-being.
