5K 4 The Kidz

5K 4 The Kidz is a community run, walk, and virtual event held on June 6, 2026 at Rowden Park in Lapeer, Michigan (1552 N. Main Street). The event raises funds for the Kiwanis Inclusive Playground, a universally accessible, nature-based play space.

The 5K course begins near the park pavilion, follows the 1-mile trail around Rowden Park, continues outside the park along Pine Street through downtown Lapeer, then reenters the park at Pine Street to complete the loop and finish near the pavilion. Parking is available at Rowden Park and in designated parking lots along M-24 (N. Lapeer Road).

There are three event options: in-person run, in-person walk, and a virtual 5K. Registration opens on February 12, 2026 and closes on June 5, 2026. Standard fees are Adults $35 (age 15 and older) and Kids $20 (age 14 and younger); day-of fees are Adults $40 and Kids $25. Registrants receive a packet with bib, pins, and swag, an event t-shirt, a finisher medal, and after-race refreshments. Race timing is provided by Newton Timing; results are posted within minutes of finishing and candid photos are embedded to bib numbers the following week. Overall and age group awards are offered for in-person run and walk categories; virtual participants are not eligible for overall timed awards.
