Taco Bell 50K Knoxville
The Taco Bell 50K Knoxville is a looped 50K route in Knoxville, TN that visits seven Taco Bell restaurants in order and starts and finishes at The Long Run at 2452 Sutherland Ave. The event uses a point to point loop through city streets, sidewalks, greenways, and park areas. Participants have an 11 hour cutoff for completing the course.
The course is not marked. Organizers provide a downloadable GPX file and turn by turn directions for navigation. The route is open to traffic with multiple road crossings and several sections that have little or no shoulder; runners are instructed to use sidewalks and greenways where available, cross at pedestrian crosswalks, and run against traffic when on roads without sidewalks.
Safety and equipment rules are strict. A 360 degree reflective vest or other reflective item is required while on course. Over the ear and in ear headphones are prohibited; conduction style audio is allowed if ears remain free. Timing services are provided by East Coast Adventures.
Food and completion rules require visiting all seven Taco Bell locations in order and ordering and consuming a menu item at each location on site. Specific menu requirements apply by the third and sixth stops, some items are disallowed, drinks and sauces do not count as food, and participants must keep receipts and wrappers for verification.
