This event is a 50K loop around Knoxville that visits seven Taco Bell locations in a prescribed order, beginning and ending at The Long Run (2452 Sutherland Ave). Participants must travel the full route on foot and order and consume a menu item at each Taco Bell stop; all food must be eaten on site. Receipts and wrappers are required for verification of completion.
The course is open to traffic and will not be marked. Organizers provide a downloadable GPX file for navigation and offer turn-by-turn directions for the route. Runners are required to wear a 360 degree reflective vest while on course and must not use over-the-ear or in-ear headphones; conduction headphones that leave the ears free are allowed. Where sidewalks are unavailable, participants should run against traffic and use the grass shoulder when necessary. Cross roads only at pedestrian crosswalks.
Specific eating rules apply: by the third and sixth stops participants must have consumed designated larger items (with provisions for dietary restrictions), certain menu items are disallowed, and drinks or sauces do not count as food. The official cutoff for completion is 11 hours; the organizer will not sweep the course. Packet pickup is available the day before at Pace House by The Long Run, 2452 Sutherland Ave. The 2027 edition is in-person only; there is a small entry fee and all finishers receive a medal.
