5 Peaks - Mt. Seymour
This trail running event is part of the BC 5 Peaks Trail Running Series and is held on the trails of Mt. Seymour Provincial Park. Courses run through dense British Columbia forest and route around Goldie and Flower lakes, set in a mountain environment about 30 minutes from Downtown Vancouver.
Several timed and non-timed options are offered for different ages and distances. Distances listed for the event include:
- Kid's 1 km
- Kid's 3 km
- Sport Run or Hike 6.5 km
- Enduro Run or Hike 10 km
- Grit Run 14.1 km
A non-competitive hiking division allows participants to walk the full course with designated pace leaders; estimated completion times are around 2 hours for the Sport route and 3 hours for the Enduro route. Course maps, elevation data and aid station locations are provided; distances and maps are subject to change based on trail conditions.
Event site facilities include parking and washrooms located in the parking lot. Spectators are welcome with best viewing from the start and finish area. Race rules restrict dogs, headphones, strollers or child carriers on course and disallow nordic walking poles except in the non-competitive hiking division.
Optional swag and finisher medals are available for purchase before or during the event. Awards are given to top finishers by gender and age category in timed distances and must be picked up at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
