5 Alarm 5K Run to Remember

The 5 Alarm 5K Run to Remember is scheduled during FDIC International in Indianapolis and spans April 20 to April 25, 2026, with the main on-site run/walk held at White River State Park on April 23. The event is presented by the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN) and marks the fifth annual running of this event.

The on-site course is described as a flat, closed route that follows the Indianapolis Canal. Participants may choose between on-site timing and a virtual option. The event offers participant shirts, with a registration deadline of April 2 to guarantee a long sleeve shirt, and a commemorative coin for the first 500 registrants.

Proceeds support FCSN programs that assist firefighters and EMS providers diagnosed with cancer, including resources, peer support, and training. The event is dedicated to the memory of Chief Bobby Halton and includes the Halton Award for the top fundraiser; that award includes an FDIC trip covering conference costs, lodging, and transportation, with a minimum fundraising threshold of $1,000 and fundraising activity required by January 30, 2025 to be eligible.

Additional activities mentioned include fundraising and donation options and information about the National Firefighter Registry for Cancer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
