5 Alarm 5K Run to Remember

The 5 Alarm 5K Run to Remember is an annual event held in Indianapolis, organized by the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN). The event takes place at White River State Park during the FDIC International conference. It serves as a tribute to the firefighter community and is dedicated to the memory of Chief Bobby Halton, a long-term advocate for the FCSN.

The course is located within White River State Park and features a flat, fast, and closed route that winds around the Indianapolis Canal. Participants have the option to have their run timed. The event is open to individuals of all backgrounds and ability levels.

Registration includes the following event options:

  • 5K Run/Walk
  • Virtual 5K

Participants who register by April 2 are guaranteed a high-quality long-sleeve shirt. Additionally, commemorative coins are provided to the first 500 registrants. Those who do not wish to run can participate by sponsoring a team or individual through the event's fundraising platform.

Proceeds from the event support the FCSN mission to provide resources, training, and support to firefighters and EMS providers who have been diagnosed with cancer. The event also highlights the National Firefighter Registry (NFR) for Cancer, which conducts research into the links between firefighting and cancer risks.
