Event Overview
The Shamrock Beer Run 5k & BrewFest Indy takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Historic Military Park in Indianapolis. It marks the 14th year of this event.
Activities and Distances
Participants can choose from three types of entry. The first is a 5K Beer Run Premium Swag, which includes a short-sleeve shirt, a finisher's medal, a cinch sack, a beer cup, beer samples along the course, and a pint of beer at the finish. The second is a 5K - I am Only Here for the Beer option, which includes the beer samples, a finish-line pint, a medal, and a beer cup, but no shirt or other swag. The third is a 0.0K BrewFest Only spectator pass, which includes a pint of beer and a cup but does not include participation in the 5K or the on-course beer samples.
The 5K course features beer sampling stations at the start and each subsequent kilometer. Runners and walkers can have a sample at the start, and at the 1K, 2K, 3K, and 4K marks, finishing with a full pint. A pint can also be consumed before the run begins.
BrewFest Details
Alongside the running event, there is a BrewFest. The festival features a DJ, a food truck, a party tent, games like cornhole and giant beer pong, and beer. The event is strictly for participants aged 21 and over; no one under 21, including children and strollers, is admitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
