3-2-1 Dash for Down Syndrome 5K & Fun Run

This event takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The main event is a 5K run with a unique feature: after crossing the standard finish line, runners continue on to a symbolic "extra" finish line to represent the extra chromosome in individuals with Down syndrome. This additional dash is approximately 0.11 miles long, bringing the total fun-run distance to 3.21 miles. The official race timing and awards are based solely on the standard 5K distance.

A separate Kids Fun Run is also offered. After the races, all participants are invited to a post-race World Down Syndrome Day celebration with food, games, and activities. Registration includes a race shirt, and all 5K finishers receive a custom medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three in each age category for the 5K.

The event supports the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte. The event's location is 8840 Blakeney Professional Dr, Charlotte, NC 28277. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
