This event marks the 14th year of the Dash and is described as a south Charlotte springtime tradition. The race includes an additional short "extra" dash after the standard 5K to represent the extra (third) copy of the 21st chromosome associated with Down syndrome. Spectators with Down syndrome will cheer participants during that extra dash. Official race time is based on the 5K distance.
Participant information
Registration fees listed are $35 for the 5K and $15 for the Kids Fun Run. Registration materials include a soft-style 5K shirt; a long-sleeve performance shirt upgrade is available for $15. Shirt sizes are guaranteed for those who register by March 1. Returning in 2026, all 5K finishers will receive a custom finisher medal. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three male and female in each age category for the 5K.
