Event overview
The 3-2-1 Dash for Down Syndrome 5K & Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, in the Blakeney area of Charlotte, North Carolina. The event is held on World Down Syndrome Day and includes both a 5K and a kids fun run. The race incorporates an extra short dash past the standard 5K finish line to represent the extra 21st chromosome in people with Down syndrome; spectators with Down syndrome will cheer runners during that extra dash. A post-race celebration will follow, featuring food, entertainment, games and bounce houses.

Entry fees listed are $35 for the 5K and $15 for the kids fun run. Registration notes include a guaranteed shirt size only for registrations completed by March 1, and an upgrade option to a long-sleeve performance shirt for an additional fee. All 5K finishers in 2026 will receive a custom finisher medal. Awards are planned for the top three overall male and female finishers and for the top three male and female in each age category for the 5K.
