20K Swimrun
This event, scheduled for 5 September 2027, combines open water swimming in the River Thames with trail running through Wytham woodlands in Oxfordshire. The course starts at Eynsham Lock and finishes at the Wytham Chalet, with both river and woodland sections.
The route is made up of three swim sections and three run sections for a total distance of 20 km:
- 3.8 km swim
- 16.5 km run
Swim sections take place on the River Thames beginning at Eynsham Lock. Running sections follow woodland tracks and cross-country terrain in the semi-ancient Oxford University woodlands of Wytham. The event includes three feed stations supplying water and isotonic drinks; any other nutrition needs are the participant's responsibility.
Logistics include a post-swim bag system: bags must be loaded at the start and will be transported to the finish area at the chalet/café tent. Participants are advised that body temperature can continue to fall after swimming and that changing into warm clothes is compulsory. There is parking at Siemens car park (OX29 4BP). Entries are non-transferable and a refund policy applies. Race merchandise will be available at the event and a café/tent will be present at the finish.
