The Donkey Brae Races take place as part of the annual Aberdour Festival at Silver Sands Park, Hawkcraig Road, Aberdour, Fife KY3 0XB. The event offers multiple running options and a village market at the finish area.

The 7-mile course follows undulating coastal paths between Aberdour and Dalgety Bay. The 2-mile route stays within Aberdour and includes a stretch through the woods plus the short climb up the Donkey Brae. Both races finish in the field at Silver Sands Park near the village market. The fun run follows a shorter route around the playing fields; buggies are permitted though the ground can be uneven.
Chipped bibs are used for the 7-mile and 2-mile races and results will be published online on the day. Facilities on site include toilets, a bag drop, hydration stations on course, and first aid cover. Food and drink are available to purchase at the village market.
Entry fees are listed at £18 for the 7-mile and £7 for the 2-mile. Registration numbers are collected on the day during the organiser’s stated registration window. Parking is limited; Aberdour train station car park is free but often busy and parking charges apply at Silver Sands Park.
Restrictions: no dogs, course not suitable for wheelchair users. Age limits apply for the 7-mile and 2-mile races; under 9s must be supervised in the fun run. Prizes will be awarded and all finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
