2-218th Field Artillery Community Ruck March and Food Drive
This event is a community ruck march and food drive held at the Forest Grove National Guard Armory in Forest Grove, Oregon. It is organized by the 2-218th Regimental Association and sponsored by the 2-218th Field Artillery Battalion. Participants march with backpacks or rucksacks filled with non-perishable food; all collected food will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul upon completion of the event.
The event includes a competitive ruck and a non-competitive route. The top three heaviest food-filled backpacks and the top three fastest finishers receive gift cards to local Forest Grove businesses and other prizes. Military equipment such as howitzers and vehicles used by Field Artillery personnel will be on display at the site.
Primary parking is at the Forest Grove Armory. Registration check in takes place at registration booths outside the armory, where registered participants are provided a free T-shirt. Registrations completed by April 1 secure a shirt and a registration packet.
