Lowther Lakeland Fell & Trail Run
The Lowther Lakeland Fell & Trail Race is a scenic 13-mile running event held near Lowther Castle, south of Penrith in the UK. Featuring about 1,400 feet of ascent, the fully marked course crosses Askham Fell and the Lowther Valley, combining roughly 3 miles of tarmac with grassy tracks and rough pasture. Highlights include a river ford across the River Lowther and two SPORTident timing stations.
The route offers varied terrain, favoring trail shoes, and requires runners to carry lightweight rain protection. Organized by volunteers, the race supports Eden Valley Hospice, with all proceeds donated after expenses. Dogs on leads are allowed, and entries close the day before the event.
