Galloping Gobbler - Fort Wayne
The Galloping Gobbler is a Thanksgiving Day road event held on November 26, 2026 in Fort Wayne. The primary distance is a 4-mile course that starts and finishes at the Hutzell Athletic Center on the University of Saint Francis campus and passes through Lindenwood Cemetery. The route also goes by the new roundabout at Main Street and St. Francis Drive, which features a sculpture by a Fort Wayne artist.
The event has drawn crowds of over 2,100 runners, friends, and family in past years. Packet pick-up arrangements include an early session for those registered by November 16 at HuMane Fort Wayne (901 Leesburg Road), an evening pick-up at the Hutzell Athletic Center the week of the race, and additional pick-up on race morning. Parking is limited; organizers note North Campus lots off Spring Street and lots near Spring Street and Lindenwood Avenue as convenient options with a short walk to Hutzell.
Awards on race morning include art glass engraved trophies for overall top finishers in men’s and women’s divisions, awards for masters and grandmasters, and 1st through 3rd place age group medals. Official results are available through the event timing provider. Course maps and an elevation profile are published for the 4-mile route.
