BookSmiles 5K and 1 Mile Walk for Literacy
The BookSmiles 5K and 1 Mile Walk is held on October 11, 2026, at Cooper River Park in Camden County, New Jersey. The event uses a certified, chip timed 5K course that runs along Cooper River and finishes at the Cooper River track. Registration includes a race T-shirt with no extra fee.

Registration opens April 1, 2026 and closes October 11, 2026. The entry fee is $35 per person. Runners and walkers are welcome and participants start together. An optional early packet pickup will be announced by the organizers.
Awards and event services include cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers ($150, $100, $50), prizes for the top three finishers in each age group, finisher awards, HD finish line video, and text messaging of results shortly after finishing.
Parking is available along Cooper River and in lots near the track and start area. The event benefits BookSmiles, a nonprofit that collects and distributes books to local children, schools, and community organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
