About the race
Philadelphia Labor Day 5K, 10K and 10 Mile takes place on Monday 6 September 2027 at Eakins Oval, below the Rocky Steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The event offers three road races that start and finish at the Oval and run along the Schuylkill River on fully closed roads.
The course is described as flat, with Strava measuring under 15 m of climbing on every distance. Routes are out-and-back along the river drives, with the 10 Mile covering the riverside more than once before returning to the Oval.
- 5K 5.0 km out-and-back along the Schuylkill River
- 10K 10.0 km out-and-back further up the river
- 10 Mile 16.1 km using the same river drives
Entries include a unique themed medal, free professional race photos, chip-timed results, post-race goodies and a bag drop. There are fluid stations on course with one for the 5K, three for the 10K and five for the 10 Mile. Minimum ages are 11 for the 5K, 15 for the 10K and 17 for the 10 Mile. The road closure cut-off is 9:30am for all races.
Travel options include several SEPTA bus routes serving nearby stops and SEPTA Regional Rail access at 30th Street Station, about an eight-minute walk from Eakins Oval. There is no event-specific parking; street parking and nearby public parking are suggested. The event is suitable for wheelchair users.
