Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before
Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before is the fourth and final volume of the SoBo Series, a Smiths and Morrissey themed running event held on the beachfront promenade at Southbourne, east of Bournemouth. The course runs along a beach hut-lined prom with coastal views that include the Isle of Wight and Swanage.
The route is a flat, tarmacked out-and-back with laps of 5.3 km (3.28 miles) and no elevation gain or loss. The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers (AUKCM), allowing it to count as a road marathon for relevant purposes. Finishers completing a lap or more receive a metal, vinyl-inspired medal.
Support at the event includes an aid station at the start/finish of each lap offering drinks and a range of sweet and savoury snacks, plus an area to leave personal items. The event is cupless and does not provide plastic cups, so participants are expected to supply their own drinking vessel. Public toilets and showers are available along the promenade. Race numbers are collected on the day at registration prior to starting the event.
TRA license numbers for the series are 7410, 7411, 7412 and 7413. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under in line with UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
