Overdose Lifeline Outpacing the Stigma 5K Run/Walk
The sixth annual Overdose Lifeline Outpacing the Stigma 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 17, 2026, in Indianapolis at 1100 W 42nd Street, IN 46208. The event offers an in-person 5K Run/Walk and a Virtual 5k Run/Walk. Registration for the events is available in spring 2026 and closes on May 29, 2026; the registration fee is $35 for each event.
The event honors people who have died from overdose, supports individuals and families affected by substance use disorder, and raises funds for Heart Rock Justus Family Recovery Center. Since opening in 2022, Heart Rock has served more than 89 moms and 45 babies, providing recovery support and stable housing.
Fundraising and sponsorship are part of the event structure. Participants may form fundraising teams in honor or memory of someone, and sponsor levels include event recognition and participant registrations. The event lists specific impact amounts to illustrate support levels: $1,500 provides one month of housing and recovery support for a mom; $1,000 provides one month of housing and essential supplies for a baby; $750 provides a year's supply of diapers; $150 sponsors a Child Advocate; $75 provides a hygiene basket for a mom; $50 provides a hygiene basket for a baby.
