Mountain Designs GeoQuest 48hr Adventure Race
Mountain Designs GeoQuest is a non-stop 48 hour adventure race held in Forster, Mid Coast, NSW, Australia. The event runs as a linear race with teams navigating consecutive legs and changing disciplines at Transition Areas where support crews or race staff meet teams.
Teams compete in either the Full Course or the Geo-Half. Both courses include trekking, mountain biking, and kayaking, and teams must stay within 100 metres of each other throughout the race. Teams can be composed of 2 or 4 persons and may choose to race supported with one non-racing support crew member, or unsupported with logistics handled by the event team. All team members must be at least 18 years old.
Categories for four-person teams include Mixed (minimum one female), All-Female, and All-Male. Finishing teams must complete the course with the same number of members they started with to receive an official placing; teams with fewer members may be permitted to continue unranked provided at least two competitors remain.
Approximate course distances are given as general guides:
- Full Course: Trekking 50–60 km, Mountain biking 110–130 km, Kayaking 40–50 km
