About the race
The Mount Robson Marathon is a grassroots, community oriented event held on the Berg Lake Trail inside Mount Robson Provincial Park. The event uses out-and-back routes that start at the Mount Robson Welcome Centre and follow the Robson River, with water and aid stations placed along the course.
Distances include:
- 50 km Ultra Marathon
- Half Marathon
- Kinney Lake 12 km
- Flatlander 5 km
The Ultra covers the entire Berg Lake Trail, passes through several environmental zones and has its turnaround point just past the shores of Berg Lake. Runners on the Ultra gain 825 m of elevation, with most of that climb concentrated in a 5 km section called the Valley of a Thousand Falls. The Half Marathon proceeds past Kinney Lake to a turnaround on the Kinney Lake gravel flats above the lake. The Kinney Lake 12 km reaches the outflow bridge at Kinney Lake. The Flatlander 5 km is mostly flat open road with a short section of wide, gently inclining trail at the start of the Berg Lake Trail. A free Kids Fun Run takes place around the Mount Robson Information Centre during the day.
Race number pickup is at the Valemount Visitor Information Centre on Friday and at the Mount Robson Visitor Information Centre on Saturday; these are in different locations. T-shirts and event merchandise are available for purchase at registration and during the event and sellers prefer cash. Registration is sold out for 2026 and will reopen in January for 2027. Volunteer positions are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
