Redman 9 miler
The Redman 9 miler takes place December 5, 2026 in York, Pennsylvania, around Lake Redman. The course is a 9 mile trail route that is mostly single track and climbs a cumulative total of about 1,200 feet.
The route crosses under Interstate 83 twice; both tunnel crossings commonly carry ankle‑deep water and the second tunnel is about 50 yards long and requires ducking for clearance. A headlamp is not required. There is one aid station a little before the halfway point stocked with water, Gatorade, performance candy and other fast energy items.
Cutoffs are set at two hours to the aid station (about 4 miles) and 4.5 hours to the finish. The course remains open to the public during the event, so participants are expected to be courteous to other trail users and to avoid littering. Organizers request that runners wear orange or other brightly colored clothing.
The race is part of the YRRC Trail Series and current YRRC members who run are eligible for series points. Online registration closes December 2; race day registration is available for $35, payable by cash or Venmo. All finishers receive a finisher item; premium items go to the top three men and top three women. Post race food will be served in the pavilion and, if at least 60 people register, brisket will be available at the finish. A Ruck division requires a minimum of 10 pounds of carried weight. If park trails are closed the event will convert to a virtual race with no refund; awards and finisher coins will still be presented. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
