Estra Firenze Marathon
The Florence Marathon is an international running event set in the historic heart of Tuscany. The course covers the iconic distance of 42.195 km, taking participants through medieval alleys and past renowned landmarks. Starting at Piazza Duomo, the route passes the Arno River, the Ponte Vecchio, and Piazza Pitti, eventually returning to the Duomo area for the finish. The 42nd edition is scheduled for November 29, 2026.
Participants run on a course that includes various scenic points such as the Cascine Park, Lungarno, and the athletics stadium. For safety and organization, the event employs a wave-start system with colored grids based on athletes' personal best times from the last two years. The time limit to complete the full distance is 6 hours, with intermediate cut-offs at the half-marathon mark (3 hours) and 30 km (4 hours and 15 minutes).
Available services for runners include:
- 42.195 km
- Refreshment stations established every 5 km with water and supplements.
- A free pacemaker service for various target times between 2h55 and 5h30.
- Bag storage located at Piazza Santa Maria Novella.

The event is open to athletes affiliated with FIDAL, World Athletics, or those holding a RUNCARD with a valid medical certificate.
