About the race
La Maratona più antica d’Italia is scheduled for Sunday 27 September 2026 and will be held as its 52nd edition. The race starts from Piazza Dante in Borgo San Lorenzo and follows a route through the Mugello valley.
The course runs across Tuscan landscapes and includes rolling hills, olive groves and vineyards. Runners pass through historic villages and reach viewpoints that offer wide scenic vistas typical of the area.
A half marathon event is organised alongside the full marathon, offered as a separate race. Both events are presented as part of the Mugello running programme and are staged in the same general area.
