About the race
ATW Bristol Triathlon is scheduled for 1 August 2027 and is based around Bristol Harbour at Brunel Lock Road in the Cumberland Basin. The event features a swim in the Cumberland Basin, a traffic‑free bike on the Portway passing under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, and a run alongside the River Avon finishing over the flyover with spectator support.
This is a rolling start, non‑drafting triathlon with multiple distance options. Aquabike entries are available for the same distances and a relay option is offered over the Standard distance.
Distances:
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 21 km bike, 5 km run
- Standard: 1500 m swim, 42 km bike, 9.6 km run
The course is described as closed road and traffic free for the bike and run sections, with wayfinding and marshal support. The event package includes finish line snacks and goodies and a custom designed medal. Wetsuit hire options are available for the season and for shorter periods. The event partners with a charity and provides opportunities to donate and fundraise during checkout.
ATW does not offer refunds or transfers to another person but allows entry transfers to any future ATW event for a range of personal reasons; transfers can be made up to 48 hours before the original event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
