Bath Hilly Half & Ultra 10K
An annual trail running event organised by Team Bath AC and the Rotary Club of Bathavon, held at Bath Racecourse, Lansdown, Bath BA1 9BU. The event in 2026 is the 14th running.
Distances
- Hilly Half: two laps, 1,650 ft (500 m) elevation gain.
- Ultra 10 km: one lap, actual distance 12.45 km.
The course is on trails with hills, stiles, gates, rough tracks and uneven ground, and offers extensive views. Organisers advise allowing around 15% longer than a flat half marathon personal best for the Hilly Half. Finishers of the Ultra 10 km are typically on course between one hour and one hour 45 minutes.
Aid and facilities include refreshment stations at Weston, North Stoke and Prospect Stile, plus a vantage point at Kelston Roundhill known as the Fool on the Hill. There is a mid Hilly Half cut off of 01:25 at Prospect Stile before the second loop; runners who miss this may be directed to the finish and awarded an Ultra 10 km time.
Event facilities at the racecourse include a large registration hall, changing rooms, showers, toilets and free car parking. Hot drinks and cakes will be available for donation. To reduce costs and environmental impact the organisers do not provide race t shirts; finish line food and drink will be supplied.
Entry fees: Hilly Half £31 affiliated / £33 unaffiliated. Ultra 10 km £25 affiliated / £27 unaffiliated. Unattached runners pay an additional £2. Runners must be 18 or older. Headphones and dogs are not permitted. The race raises money for local charities. Trail Running Association permit is to be confirmed. Refunds or deferrals are not offered, but transfers to another runner are accepted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
